Welcome to our family-run touring park and campsite situated in Porthcothan, within the ‘Seven Bays’ – one of the most beautiful parts of North Cornwall.

Set back from the rugged coastline, we have far reaching country views in a very quiet secluded spot, looking down the valley, disturbed only by the sound of our animals. Come and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep with an uninterrupted panoramic sky, perfect for star gazing.

Our nearest beach – Porthcothan, only a 10 minute walk away is a delightful little bay, great for bathing, surfing and snorkelling. Sand dunes and rock pools all combine to make it an idyllic place for both families and couples. We are situated in the best area to explore the North Coast and local hot spots of Padstow & Newquay. We also have a bus stop to take you either way along the coast.

What our guests have to say…

Perfection in every way

Macdonald’s farm is perfectly situated near an array of beauty spots along the coast of Cornwall, notably near Newquay & Padstow, which are both only 20minutes drive away. Whilst staying with Lisa and Nick at their beautiful Lost Valley Campsite, we were able to explore Porthcothan Bay, Treyarnon Bay, Constantine Bay and Harlyn Bay, which are all beautiful sandy beaches with good surf! The most local bay, Porthcothan Bay, took only 10 minutes to walk to from the campsite. The bay is beautiful, with a beach hut and lifeguards protecting those that wish to head out into the sea. During the evenings, we were able to settle down on the campsite with a campfire and sit with fellow campers, playing sports, games, cards and just relaxing with a drink. The campsite has all essential amenities and Lisa, Nick, Jax or Neil we’re always quickly on hand to help out if needed! The campsite has a fantastic family-fun feel to it and we absolutely loved the atmosphere! Definitely returning next year…(we actually returned for a second time during August because of how much we enjoyed ourselves!) Thank you so much to Lisa, Nick, Jax & Neil – you guys are the dream team! All the best, Jamie, Sam, Sam & the Gould family!

Family friendly camping close to the beach

We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at this peaceful, family friendly campsite. Brilliant hosts Lisa and Nick and team couldn’t have done more to make us and our 7 and 10 year old welcome. Pitches are generous, facilities are super clean and the showers were lovely and warm at all times of day. There’s a super handy shop on site and the location is ideal with the lovely Porthcothan beach (and a great little cafe selling top notch ice creams, quality coffee and pasties ) within walking distance. We also enjoyed a coastal walk along the cliffs from here to the next bay along. Constantine Bay is just ten minutes drive away and Padstow itself is also a short drive away (set off early when visiting – we struggled to find a parking spot in the town by midday.) We can’t wait to return to this lovely spot. Thank you Lisa and Nick!

Huge thank you to the new owners Lisa and Nick for making our first family camping experience such a good one. Site lovely, big pitches and a great family vibe. The personal touches from the new owners of coming to chat to us most days and coming to say goodbye as we packed down was lovely. Really great to also hear their plans and enthusiasm for the camping site and farm park, wish them every bit of luck and success and look forward to returning next year if not before.

We stayed at the farm on the 10th and 11th July 2020. Everything was very clearly signposted and Lisa and Nick came out to greet us and show us to our pitch – the place is looking immaculate, clearly lots of work has been put in and it shows.

Lisa and Nick are incredibly personable and were very keen to ensure that our stay was as good as it could have been (it was). The facilities were clean and well situated we had a wonderful weekend. Nick even magicked up a bag of ice for me to chill a fish i’d recently caught – incredibly kind.

Overall I couldn’t recommend this place more. A short walk to beachy heaven and a cracking team that run the place. Nice work.
