Set back from the rugged coastline, we have far reaching country views in a very quiet secluded spot, looking down the valley, disturbed only by the sound of our animals. Come and enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep with an uninterrupted panoramic sky, perfect for star gazing.

Our nearest beach – Porthcothan, only a 10 minute walk away is a delightful little bay, great for bathing, surfing and snorkelling. Sand dunes and rock pools all combine to make it an idyllic place for both families and couples. We are situated in the best area to explore the North Coast and local hot spots of Padstow & Newquay. We also have a bus stop to take you either way along the coast.

What our guests have to say…

Wonderful Site

What a find, excellent small site, quiet and secluded, pitches large and well maintained. Didn’t use the shower block as prefer to use own own on board facilities. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back! Porthcothan beach is wonderful and walkable from the site. Loads to do in the surrounding areas, great restaurants and other nice beaches.

Absolutely perfect site in a stunning location

This was our first experience in a motor home in Cornwall and we certainly left the best until last. This site was the best we stayed in all week and we will certainly be going back. The campsite is is perfect in every way from the welcome arrival from Lisa to the high quality, spotlessly clean and modern toilets and showers. The friendly atmosphere is only enhanced by the animals who introduced themselves whilst we sipped our drinks outside in the sunshine. It was also the only site who sent through a follow up email thanking us for staying with them.

A relaxing and beautiful campsite in a stunning location

A relaxing and beautiful campsite in a stunning location

We have stayed on many campsites on the Cornish coast. This one is possibly our favourite. Porthcothan beach is an absolute gem. It is clean and quiet and the rocky coastline is magnificent. I took far too many photographs trying to capture its changing moods. The campsite has a wonderful atmosphere and a lot of credit for this must go to Nick and Lisa (the owners), and their team. Lovely people to deal with. The facilities are high quality, comfortable and clean. Gill and I spent most of our time walking on the cliffs and beaches, and the bus service is great. There are regular buses which can take you anywhere between Newquay and Padstow. During our first week there were high quality catering vans on most evenings and they were very welcome. We had a great holiday and as I am writing this I am wishing I was still at Porthcothan.. Thank you so much to Nick, Lisa and the team. We will be back!

An absolute gem!

What a treat! We’ve camped for years and finally we’ve found the perfect campsite! We loved the brilliantly thought out facilities area – family showers/wash up/sand shower/doggy shower/communal freezers – all using top quality Grohe and Vitra fittings – clearly built to last. All areas were kept incredibly clean – no idea how they managed it given the changeable British weather! The site itself is the perfect size. Our group has children aged 5 – 13 and we were able to relax knowing they were so safe and happy. They loved the animals (my daughter spent ages chatting to the owl, goats and alpacas) and the fantastic new play area. They also loved having the independence to pop to the cafe & little shop.

Catering was made easier with a delicious guest food van most nights. Get your order in early as the wait can be long. There was even live music on the Monday – a brilliantly talented duo performing well known covers just outside the bar. Children and parents sang along with huge smiles – all of us well fed and well watered. One of the best heart-warming evenings ever.  All staff and fellow campers were respectful, kind, thoughtful and welcoming. The 10pm – 8am ‘quiet time’ worked well. Oh, and beautiful Portcothan Beach is just a 10 min walk. What more could you wish for? Thank you for all the hard work and thought you’ve put into renovating the campsite – all while juggling your own young children and the Covid rollercoaster. You deserve huge success – we’ll be back for sure.
