So What’s New?

The history of Old Macdonald’s Farm is long and steeped in love and passion for its surroundings. The original owners created a cider farm here and the children’s play attraction was created so that day visitors could enjoy feeding the animals and having a great day out.

We want to put our own stamp on the farm and give it a little change. The first big change you will notice is the name. We will now be Macdonald’s Farm and the “old “will be left to the history books.

For 2021, we are making the Farm Garden a guest only experience and will no longer have public day entry. Throughout the season we will be organising some events that will be advertised on our ‘What’s On’ page for the public to enjoy. Aside from these, we want our guests to exclusively be able to enjoy everything the farm has to offer as part of your booking package.

The campsite and touring park will have the addition of new pitches and a seasonal pitch area. The toilet and shower facilities will be given a huge facelift and we are delighted to offer added extras such as a new washing up area and a dog/surfboard wash. You will be able to hire a fire pit from our reception area plus purchase logs too. We have already added a dog exercise area at the bottom of the campsite and our furry friends are very welcome to enjoy the farm garden but must be kept on a lead.

We will also start to put into place our all new glamping area for those who want a little luxury with their camping holiday. There will be a range of accommodation and will be updating our ‘Glamping’ page as we go with what’s on offer.

The B&B’s are sadly also being left to the history books, but in their place are our new Farm Cottages and Apartments, expected to be completed for 2021/22. These will be able to house families and couples looking to stay at the farm and self-cater. These farm gems will be built offering 2-3 bedroom accommodation with sea views and private gardens. We know these will book out fast please watch our ‘Self-Catering Accommodation’ page for updates.

The ‘Farm Garden’ will now house a large grassed lawn area where our guests will be able to relax with picnic rugs and play a range of games from our games hut. We are delighted to be able to keep our wonderful farm animals for guests to say hello to and you can even help us feed them! We will be offering bookings for pony rides for little ones via our reception area so you can tour the garden in style. A big highlight for the adults in 2021 will be a new Sundowner Bar so that you can watch our incredible sunsets with a large glass of something cold! We will also have our weekly pop up ‘Food at the Farm’ nights where you will be able to get some of the best BBQ and Cornish local food around. Rest assured our magical new Farm Garden will be one of the most unique places to eat, drink and relax with views of the rolling valley and the sea beyond.

Also in the garden, adjoined to the campsite will be a playground which will house new children’s climbing frames, swings, slides, trampolines and sand play for both big and little ones. For regular guests – we are sorry, but we no longer have the go karts, crazy golf and our little train.

Our new shop and reception area will be located at the entrance and will sell some great local food and produce plus all of your camping essentials. We will offer barista coffee to give you a great start to your day and will serve breakfast baps during peak season. Our reception area will be open daily, and we can help with any visitor or travel info you may need on the local area.

We really cannot wait to introduce the new Macdonald’s Farm to you all and look forward to hopefully meeting you one day. Please call us with any questions – we would love to say hello and help you plan your stay with us.

See you next year!
